On June 3, 2010, the Government announced the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS). The Strategy was an historic and important shift in shipbuilding procurement, moving from a project-by-project basis to a long-term strategic approach.

Le 3 juin 2010, le gouvernement a fait l'annonce de la Stratégie nationale d'approvisionnement en matière de construction navale (SNACN). Cette initiative a pour but de modifier la construction navale en passant d'une approche projet ­par projet à une approche stratégique efficace à long terme pour remplacer les navires du Canada.
