Native Outrech Program.

From 1986 until 1991, the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA), Ontario Division, offered services for Native people affected by diabetes through the Native Outreach Program. This program later expanded to the CDA national office for a brief time until the First Nations Health Commission added a national Native Diabetes Program to its organization. This program has been in operation since April 1991.

Entre 1986 et 1991, la division ontarienne de l'Association canadienne du diabète offrait ses services aux autochtones souffrant de diabète par l'intermédiaire du Programme extension pour autochtones. Ce programme a été transféré au siège social de l'Association pendant une courte période, jusqu'à ce que la Commission de santé des Premières Nations ajoute un programme national sur le diabète autochtone à son organisation. Ce programme existe depuis avril 1991.
