Voici «Solon», système expert fermé puisque l'utilisateur ne peut pas l'enrichir lui-même. [...] Un tel système expert n'a pas spécifiquement de vocation pédagogique, bien que l'on puisse à la longue, emmagasiner son mode d'approche des problèmes et son mode de raisonnement. D'autres systèmes experts ont davantage de vocation pédagogique. Ce sont les systèmes experts «ouverts» que l'on appelle des «coquilles» justement parce qu'ils constituent des formes vides ou schémas de raisonnement auxquels il va falloir donner un contenu.
