For many years British Airways, in partnership with a number of other airlines, has run an expanding private communications network which now reaches all the continents of the world. This network is known as the Overseas Fixed Telecommunications System (OFTS). The main hub is London, with nearly 100,000 messages being received and transmitted each day from all parts of the world.
