Depuis quelques années, la tendance pour les modèles haut de gamme est aux écrans DELO (OLED en anglais) et leur variante AMOLED [matrice active à diodes électroluminescentes organiques]. Cette technologie permet d'éteindre chacun des pixels (les petits points qui composent une image numérique) indépendamment les uns des autres, et d'offrir ainsi des noirs profonds.
