L'évolution de la fréquence cardiaque pendant l'effort est exprimée par rapport à l'intensité de l'effort ou à la VO2: en général, une pathologie myocardique se traduit par une fréquence cardiaque élevée pour le niveau de l'effort fourni. Il en résulte une diminution du pouls d'O2 (VO2/Fc) (valeur normale de l'ordre de 14 ml/battement).
