DEF

A defensive action which deflects the attacker's blade.

OBS

If your opponent attacks you first, you may need to parry. To do this, you use your foil to deflect or turn away your opponent's blade. The strong part of your foil, near the guard, is used against the weaker tip of the attacking foil.
