The Payload Operations Control Center at the Marshall Space Flight Center is a NASA facility for monitoring, coordinating and controlling on-orbit operations of Spacelab payloads. It is also used for premission test and training activities. The Payload Operations Control Center allows users on the ground to support and interact with onboard mission activities and permits direct communication between the investigator on the ground and flight crew on orbit. It provides ground command capability to operate experiments, manage payload resources and operate payload support equipment. Its facilities and services for instrument monitoring and control are made available to all users who request them. Each user area has a standard set of support equipment and space for special instrument-dedicated ground support equipment. A communication link can be arranged to allow the investigator to perform some or all operations from his own institution. 2, record 1, English, - Payload%20Operations%20Control%20Center
