In statistics, the shape of a frequency distribution curve, specifically the degree of flatness or peakedness. On peut comparer la courbe de fréquence à une courbe de fréquence idéale [la courbe normale] et faire apparaître ainsi l'aplatissement ou l'allongement au voisinage du mode.
