A polyester-base film with a photoplastic film emulsion that is sensitized by an electrostatic charge and processed by dry procedure (thermal) with the images recorded as deformation (intaglio) in the film emulsion.

Certains polymères thermoplastiques et photoconducteurs peuvent enregistrer des images par un développement non pigmentaire: ces enregistrements sont dits photoplastiques. Les charges restant dans les parties non exposées du film plastique ont tendance à se recombiner avec les charges de signe contraire induites sur la face opposée; lors d'un traitement thermique, ces forces de recombinaison entraînent une déformation mécanique de la surface du film.
