Les codes de transport déterministes (méthode SN...) utilisent des sections efficaces «multigroupes», c'est-à-dire moyennées de manière appropriée par intervalle d'énergie. Le produit final du traitement est une bibliothèque de données physiques exploitable par le code de transport de particules désigné.
