Les pinéoblastomes (ou pinéaloblastomes), sont des tumeurs hautement cellulaires, faites de petites cellules peu différenciées, riches en chromatine et dont le cytoplasme est peu ou pas visible. Ces tumeurs ont un aspect histologique identique à celui des médulloblastomes dont elles partagent aussi la haute malignité et la tendance à diffuser par voie leptoméningée.
