The turn and slip indicator is a combination of two instruments; the turn needle and the ball. The needle is gyro operated to show rate of turn. The ball reacts to centrifugal force to indicate the quality of a turn.

CONT

The turn and slip indicator consists of two instruments combined. The turn indicator, above, consists of an electrically driven gyroscope connected to a pointer. It indicates rate, by magnitude of deflection, and direction, by direction of deflection of the pointer, of the turn. The slip indicator consists of a small ball in a curved tube. If the glider is not correctly aligned in the turn then the ball will roll out from the center point.

[...] Lorsque l'aiguille s'incline à droite, l'avion est en virage à droite (idem à gauche) [...] l'aiguille indique un taux de virage en degré par seconde [...] un virage de 360° s'effectuera en deux minutes.

The attitude indicator (also called the artificial horizon or the gyro horizon) provides the pilot with an artificial horizon as a means of reference when the natural horizon cannot be seen because of cloud, fog, rain or other obstructions to visibility ... The natural horizon is represented by a horizon bar on the face of the instrument. The attitude of the aircraft in relation to the horizon is indicated by a split bar or, on some instruments, by a miniature airplane. A pointer at the top indicates degrees of bank on an index scale graduated from 0° to 90° right or left.
