Natural Resources Canada, 1996. The Policy Framework for Radioactive Waste consists of a set of principles governing the institutional and financial arrangements for the disposal of radioactive waste, including nuclear fuel waste, by waste producers and owners. The federal government has the responsibility to develop policy, to regulate, and to oversee producers and owners to ensure that they comply with legal requirements and meet their funding and operational responsibilities in accordance with approved waste disposal plans.

La Politique-cadre en matière de déchets radioactifs énonce un ensemble de principes régissant les modes d'organisation et de financement à mettre en œuvre pour assurer l'évacuation des déchets radioactifs, y compris les déchets de combustible nucléaire, par les producteurs et propriétaires de déchets.
