A parameter, called reactivity, is often used to describe reactor control. It is related to the multiplication factor in the following way: if the multiplication factor is exactly one, the reactivity is exactly zero; if the multiplication factor is greater than one, the reactivity is positive (but less than one). If the multiplication factor is between zero and one, the reactivity is negative. Reactivity is a convenient way to describe reactor control because positive reactivity means a supercritical reactor, zero reactivity means a critical reactor, and negative reactivity means a subcritical reactor.  2, record 1, English, - positive%20reactivity
