Le proton (de charge électrique positive) et le neutron (de charge neutre, il n'est pas chargé) se mettent ensemble et se regroupent pour former le noyau de l'atome. Autour de ce noyau tournent des électrons (charge négative) un peu comme des planètes autour du soleil. Pour simplifier, c'est en fonction du nombre de protons, de neutrons et d'électrons que nous aurons soit un atome de fer, soit un atome d'oxygène.
