Dans la centrale, près de 80 % à 90 % de l'eau douce puisée traversent la membrane de la centrale osmotique, ce débit provoquant une surpression dans le réservoir d'eau salée et y augmentant le débit d'eau. Près d'un tiers de cette eau est acheminée vers la turbine pour produire de l'électricité tandis que les deux tiers restants sont réacheminés vers l'échangeur de pression pour pressuriser l'eau de mer entrante.
