Défibrage sous pression. Un procédé modifié de défibrage du bois sous pression a été mis au point en Finlande et plusieurs usines, un peu partout dans le monde, utilisent actuellement cette technique (4). On se sert d'air comprimé pour mettre toute l'installation de défibrage sous pression, ce qui permet d'empêcher la détente de la vapeur et d'obtenir des températures considérablement plus élevées dans la zone de travail. Un système de vannes d'étanchéité est prévu pour réduire la perte de pression au moment du chargement au bas du défibreur. L'évacuation de la pâte s'effectue au moyen d'une vanne de décharge.
