Expérience dans laquelle des cellules sont brièvement cultivées dans un milieu radioactif (pulse), pour être ensuite transférées dans un milieu non radioactif pour une plus longue période (chase), de durée variable dépendant de la stabilité des composés observés. Cette méthode permet d'évaluer le turnover (vitesses de synthèse et/ou dégradation) de diverses macromolécules in vivo.
