A sophisticated Earth observation (EO) satellite developed by Canada to monitor environmental change and the planet's natural resources.

OBS

RADARSAT was developed under management of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) in cooperation with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration / National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NASA/NOAA), Canadian provincial governments, and the Canadian private sector.

OBS

This remote sensing satellite uses radar to take images useful for agriculture, oceanography, forestry, hydrology, geology, cartography, and meteorology.
