The overall objective of the proposed cooperation between the CSA and the CNES is to undertake a joint Earth observation mission from Space, referred to as "RADARSAT III", (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Mission") through the launch, presently planned for 2003, of a satellite primarily carrying advanced SAR instrumentation.
