The University of British Columbia Real Property Assessment Certificate Program was developed in cooperation with the International Association of Assessing Officers. It is unique in its approach to real property valuation and state-of-the-art in its material. The first year encompasses a broad spectrum of basic valuation concepts, basic economics of supply and demand as it relates to real property, an introduction to statistics and mortgage financing techniques. The second year is unique in that it presents a hands-on approach to computer assisted mass appraisal (CAMA). Topics directly related to the real property taxation system, administration, data collection and quality assurance are also covered.
