A Reciprocal Transfer Agreement is a negotiated arrangement between the federal Public Service and an outside employer with a compatible pension plan (approved pension plan) whereby an individual's pensionable service credit can be recognized as pensionable service under the new plan. This arrangement permits not only the transfer of the employee's contributions in the fund, but also the employer's share of contributions plus interest on both shares.

Une entente réciproque de transfert est une entente négociée entre la fonction publique fédérale et un employeur de l'extérieur possédant un régime de pension compatible (régime de pension approuvé) permettant de reconnaître le crédit de service ouvrant droit à pension en tant que service ouvrant droit à pension en vertu du nouveau régime. Cette entente permet non seulement de transférer les cotisations de l'employé au fonds de pension, mais aussi la part de l'employeur et les intérêts sur les deux parts.
