Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The Regional Advisory Process (RAP) was established in 1993 to provide peer reviewed information on the status of the fisheries and marine mammal resources in the Atlantic zone, and was expanded in 1997 to include the Central & Arctic and Pacific regions. In the Maritimes Region and the Gulf Region, the RAP addresses issues in the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Bay of Fundy, on the Scotian Shelf and on Georges Bank. The Maritimes RAP also undertakes the review of technical analysis relating to regional habitat and fisheries management issues.

Le Processus consultatif régional (PCR) a été créé en 1993 en vue d'obtenir des renseignements, ayant fait l'objet d'un examen par les pairs, sur l'état des ressources halieutiques et des mammifères marins dans la zone Atlantique; il a été étendu aux Régions du Centre et de l'Arctique ainsi que du Pacifique, en 1997. Dans la Région des Maritimes et la Région de gestion des pêches du Golfe, le PCR porte sur le sud du golfe du Saint-Laurent, la baie de Fundy, le plateau néo-écossais et le banc Georges. Il englobe aussi l'examen des analyses techniques ayant trait à la gestion régionale des pêches et des habitats.
