Reinstatement, in employment law, refers to placing a worker back in a job he has lost without loss of seniority or other job benefits. Usually ordered by an agency, such as the National Labor Relations Board, or judicial authority, together with back pay, as a remedy in discrimination cases.

L'article 124 de la LNT [Loi sur les normes du travail] prévoit le droit de contester un congédiement fait sans cause juste et suffisante, lorsqu'une personne justifie de deux (2) ans de service continu chez son employeur. Outre l'octroi de diverses compensations monétaires ou indemnités, la réintégration dans l'emploi est l'une des mesures de réparation qui peut être décrétée, s'il s’agit d’un congédiement injustifié.
