Distributed database management. Distributed database management implies totally integrated, distributed data, under the coordinated control of multiple heterogeneous database management systems. La gestion de base de données répartie présume l'existence de données réparties totalement intégrées et soumises au contrôle coordonné de plusieurs systèmes de gestion de base de données hétérogènes.
