Founded in 1976, GRET is an NGO of professionals for fair development. It supports sustainable development processes in urban and rural areas by building on social equity, economic promotion and respect for the environment.

GRET is a development support organisation. GRET designs and implements field projects, provides expertise, conducts studies and applied research, moderates networks, and publishes books. GRET activities are organised around seven thematic clusters, including Environment and Rural Development (EDR), Food Processing Commodity Chains and Nutrition (FAN), Microfinance Information Services and Communication for Development (SICD). GRET Research focuses on the analysis of development processes and intervention methodologies.
