Record 1, Textual support, English
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A rotary boring bit consisting of two to four-cone-shaped, toothed rollers which are turned by the rotation of the drill rods. They are used in hard rock in oil well boring and other deep holes down to 15,000 feet and more. Although their penetration speed is somewhat slow, roller bits last longer which is a very important factor in deep drilling. 2, record 1, English, - roller%20bit
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
In rolling cutter bits, the cone type bits currently manufactured have three cutters or two cutters. For general overall use the bit with three cones is a better balanced bit. 6, record 1, English, - roller%20bit
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Roller-cone bits are also called rock bits. The surface of each cone is made up of rows of steel or tungsten carbide teeth or rows of tungsten carbide inserts. Tungsten carbide insert bits are usually used to drill extremely hard formations. 5, record 1, English, - roller%20bit

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
In rotary drilling ... there are two basic types of bit. The rolling-cutter bit shears, chips or grinds the rock as the drill string is rotated; the drag bit and the diamond bit scrape or grind. 7, record 2, English, - bit
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
There are three principal kinds of bits used in rotary drilling: roller-cone bits (rock bits), diamond bits, and fishtail bits (drag bits). 8, record 2, English, - bit
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 3 CONT
The earliest type of drilling bit was the percussion bit for cable-tool drilling. 8, record 2, English, - bit
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
In the oil and gas industry the use of the word "bit" dates from the time when percussion drilling was general practice and has since been extended to describe the tool employed in rotary drilling. There is a great variety of drilling tools. 9, record 2, English, - bit

6, record 2, French, - tr%C3%A9pan
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Dans l'industrie du pétrole, l'usage du mot trépan remonte à l'époque où l'on forait par battage, puis il s'est étendu aux outils de forage par rotation. Il existe une grande variété de trépans. 7, record 2, French, - tr%C3%A9pan
