The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SSARC) was established when its Charter was formally adopted on December 8, 1985 by heads of state of the government of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAARC provides a platform for the peoples of South Asia to work together in a spirit of friendship, trust and understanding. L'ASACR est une organisation régionale économique et politique de pays d'Asie du Sud créée en 1985 dans le but d'accélérer le développement économique et social de ses États membres grâce à une coopération intrarégionale renforcée.
