English

Subject field(s)
  • Biological Sciences
DEF

The increase in the solubility of a protein that is produced in solutions of low salt concentrations.

CONT

Many proteins ... require a low salt concentration to prevent their precipitation. This salting in effect is due to the suppression of the ordered (association) or random (aggregation) assembly of protein molecules by accumulation of electrolyte ions on the protein surface.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sciences biologiques
DEF

OBS

salting-in : terme anglais employé dans les ouvrages français.
