Saskatchewan Water Corporation (SaskWater) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIC which was established in 1984. In 2002, the new SaskWater was established with the proclamation of The Saskatchewan Water Corporation Act (2002). Through this Act, SaskWater became a fully commercial Crown corporation providing water, wastewater and related services to municipal, industrial, government and domestic customers in the province. Water resource management activities were transferred to the new Saskatchewan Watershed Authority. SaskWater's headquarters is in Moose Jaw. SaskWater owns and operates 23 regional water supply systems, five municipal water treatment systems, two wastewater treatment systems and four irrigation projects. These systems serve 34 industrial customers and more than 30,000 residents in 46 communities in Saskatchewan.
