Sectoral Youth Internships (SYI) program is a private-sector driven collaboration between governments, industry and educational and training institutions to respond to the challenge of providing stronger linkages between school and the world of work. The objective of SYI is to bring about systemic change by encouraging and supporting the creation of structured pathways, "owned" by employers, educators and participating youth, from the education system to jobs in emerging and expanding industries.

Le volet sectoriel de Jeunes stagiaires est un travail de collaboration dont le secteur privé est le moteur, entre les gouvernements, l'industrie et les établissements d'enseignements et de formation. Il s'attaque au défi de créer des liens plus solides entre l'école et le monde du travail. L'objectif de Jeunes stagiaires du programme sectoriel vise à entraîner un changement systémique en encourageant et en appuyant la création de cheminements structurés, «propriété» des employeurs, des éducateurs et des jeunes participants, et ce, du système d'éducation aux emplois dans les industries en développement et en croissance.
