A self-contained, oil-operated steel support for use on a mechanized longwall face. It has support frames constructed of rigid roof and floor members supported by yielding hydraulic props. On peut classer également comme "monobloc", le soutènement Dowty Roofmaster. Mais ici, les étançons de chaque pile, au lieu d'être disposés en carré, le sont en ligne perpendiculaire au front. Le système (...) comporte d'autre part deux sortes de piles alternées : - une pile à 3 étançons formant soutènement permanent, - une pile à 2 étançons formant soutènement provisoire. L'une comme l'autre de ces piles porte en outre, à l'avant et à sa base, un vérin horizontal de déplacement prenant appui sur le blindé.
