Chlorites et serpentines. Il s'agit de deux groupes de minéraux qui proviennent souvent de l'altération des silicates ferromagnésiens : micas, pyroxènes et amphiboles, péridots. [...] Les serpentines sont des minéraux généralement fibreux (une variété est utilisée pour faire les vêtements incombustibles) verts, riches en eau de composition. Elles arrivent à former de véritables roches.
