A pilgrimage festival, "the Feast of Weeks" is an agricultural feast linked to the barley harvest. It also celebrates God's revelation to Israel at Sinai and is celebrated early summer. Seven weeks after first day of Passover occurs the Festival of Weeks, sometimes known as the Festival of Pentecost. It is the festival of the first fruits. In ancient days, when the early harvest was brought in, men hastened to place part of it on the altar in gratitude to God. Jewish tradition come to associate this festival with the giving of the law on Mount Sinai.
