Single sports meeting the eligibility criteria stipulated in the federal hosting policy can receive federal funding under the Single Sport Hosting Program (SSHP) of Sport Canada. The program helps Canadian sport organizations gain profile internationally within their respective federations through hosting key world-level events in Canada. Eligible events include summer and winter world championships, world cups and qualifying tournaments like pre-Olympic or pre-Commonwealth trials. Funding provided under this program is for operating costs only. Capital expenditures are not eligible for consideration.

Les organismes unisport satisfaisant aux critères d'admissibilité énoncés dans la politique fédérale en matière d'accueil peuvent toucher des fonds fédéraux dans le cadre du Programme d'accueil de manifestations unisport (PAMU) de Sport Canada. Le programme aide les organismes sportifs canadiens à se faire connaître à l'échelle internationale au sein de leur fédération respective en organisant des manifestations importantes de calibre mondial au Canada. Parmi les manifestations admissibles figurent les championnats du monde d'été et d'hiver, les coupes du monde et les tournois de qualification comme les essais préolympiques ou avant les Jeux du Commonwealth. Les fonds consentis dans le cadre de ce programme sont destinés aux frais de fonctionnement uniquement. Les dépenses en capital ne sont pas admissibles.
