The outer ring sliding contact surface is of sinter bronze composite (sintered bronze, the pores of which are filled with PTFE and lead, with a sheet steel backing), PTFE fabric or PTFE composite (glass fibre reinforced fabric containing PTFE-PTFE = polytetrafluoethylene).
