Deux produits LI sont extraits des données satellitales GOES. L'un utilise les sondages extraits du sondeur, l'autre est produit à partir de l'imageur. Le produit sondage a une meilleure résolution verticale; le LI basé sur l'imageur a une meilleure résolution spatiale (4 km au lieu de 10 km) et il est plus fréquent.
