Approximately 40 Canadian embassies use the Stand-Alone Immigration Reporting System, known as "STAIRS". It allows missions to maintain and process immigration applications. STAIRS summarizes monthly processing and sends the results to headquarters by the internet. Headquarters monitors the monthly immigration data, allowing quotas and priorities to be set quickly and easily.
