CONT

Forward-chaining systems are sometimes called data-driven systems. They make clear the distinction between the knowledge base and the working memory. The premises of the rules in the knowledge base are compared to the contents of working memory. When a rule succeeds, its conclusion(s) is placed in the working memory.
