Le connecteur ST est de moins en moins utilisé pour les réseaux optiques en intérieur et extérieur. Sa férule en céramique garantit de hautes performances et autorise son utilisation pour les fibres multimodes. Il possède un système de verrouillage à baïonnette qui assure un verrouillage du connecteur par pression et rotation en évitant les serrages excessifs et l'endommagement de l'extrémité de la fibre.
