The stratiform migmatites are interstratified between a "floor" and a "roof", with the form of lenses or beds which have an extent and regularity sometimes startling. Cases are known where they have been followed for tens of kilometers (Jung and Roques, 1952).

On en connaît qui se poursuivent à l'affleurement sur des dizaines de km de long et des épaisseurs de plusieurs centaines de mètres.
