OBS

SFI is Alberta's welfare program. It includes temporary income support to ensure people with no other resources have access to food, clothing, shelter, and health services. SFI generally provides a standard allowance, a shelter allowance, and health coverage. In some cases, additional special benefits may be available for training and job search, emergencies, or medical and children's needs. Rates vary by the number of adults and children in a household, and by how soon the client is expected to return to the workforce.
