Truck [number] 122 had a designated swamper. A swamper is a worker who accompanies the load to be moved. For example, if a truck were backing up with a load, the swamper would walk behind the load, on the truck's passenger side. The truck driver would have full view of the swamper with the passenger side mirror. The swamper would guide the load and signal to the trucker to stop if equipment, road hazards, or workers were in the path of the load.
