OBS

[T1-weighted] images show better anatomical detail and better differentiation between solid and cystic (fluid filled) structures.

On dit classiquement, et cela est vrai, que les images pondérées en T2 sont plus sensibles que les images pondérées en T1 pour détecter au sein d'un tissu plein des variations de contraste liées à une pathologie évolutive à ses débuts. Les exemples sont nombreux où les lésions sont évidentes sur les images pondérées en T2, alors qu'elles ne l'étaient pas sur les images pondérées en T1.
