CONT

Textile Chemists combine a strong base in chemistry with expertise in polymer science(1), coloration and finishing technology. They work with natural and man-made fibers, colorants, and treatment chemicals. The combined background is ideal for positions in research and development or technical service with the large textile/nonwoven/carpet producers, fiber producers, dye stuff manufacturers or specialty chemical formulators. Opportunities also exist for textile chemists to work for companies that specialize in environmental concerns such as: waste treatment and disposal, water purification systems, recycled materials, health and safety, noise and dust control.
