[...] instrument en bois de renne percé d'un ou de plusieurs trous à la bifurcation d'un andouiller coupé. - Ces objets, parfois interprétés comme des insignes de commandement, ressemblent à des outils que les Eskimos utilisent en levier pour redresser à chaud des baguettes d'os. Ils portent souvent des traces d'usure au bord des trous et ont pu servir de redresseurs de sagaies. Ils sont fréquemment décorés.
