In 2005, through the Tobacco Adjustment Assistance Program, AAFC [Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada] also provided $67 million and supported the transition of most Quebec tobacco producers as well as a significant proportion of the Ontario tobacco producers out of tobacco production.
