Les jeunes trans vivent à la fois de l'homophobie et de la transphobie à l'école. D'une part, ces jeunes sont souvent étiquetés comme gais ou lesbiennes à cause de leur expression de genre atypique et subissent ainsi des attitudes et des comportements homophobes de la part de leurs pairs, et parfois même du personnel scolaire. D'autre part, ils sont confrontés à des difficultés spécifiques à leur situation (changement de prénom, obligation de s'identifier en fonction du sexe assigné à la naissance, carte étudiante, utilisation des toilettes et vestiaires, etc.).
