A yellow orthorhombic mineral which consists of a uranovanadate of calcium occurring in incrustations as a secondary mineral; an ore of uranium.

CONT

The calcium equivalent of carnotite, a bright yellow mineral known as tyuyamunite, is probably the next most abundant of the carnotite-like minerals.

CONT

La tyuyamunite est, en général, liée à la carnotite dans ses gisements sédimentaires. On passe facilement de l'une à l'autre d'ailleurs par échange de base, en présence d'une solution concentrée de sels de K ou de Ca, selon le cas.
